All 18 points: Owen Williams

Scarlets fly-half Owen Williams kicked all of his teams points to claim an 18-10 PRO12 victory over Munster in Llanelli on Saturday.

The result sees Scarlets move into the play-off places while Munster lie sixth in the standings.

Williams kicked three penalties to Ronan O'Gara's one as the Welsh region established a six-point lead at half-time.

The home team's fly-half added three further three-pointers after the break to complete a superb victory, even though Denis Hurley touched down in the last minute for the Irish province.

Despite having a fine first half of the season, the hosts went on a poor run of form in the league and slipped down the table, but last week's win over Connacht got them back on track.

However, it was the visitors that started the brighter and had two opportunities to take the lead in the opening minutes, but O'Gara was surprisingly off-target with both.

That allowed Simon Easterby's men to gain a foothold in the match and Williams duly kicked them ahead. Although the fly-half missed with his next attempt, he made up for it soon after with a second from the tee to take them into a 6-0 advantage.

O'Gara finally got Munster on the board with a penalty, but the home team's fly-half responded with one of his own to make the score 9-3 at the interval.

It was similarly tight in the second half but, although the Irish province did most of the running, the Scarlets were the side that took their chances.

Williams extended the lead on 50 minutes before Mike Sherry was sin-binned and the Scarlets' pivot kicked the resultant opportunity.

A drop-goal then followed from the fly-half to take them three scores ahead. Hurley went over in the last minute for Munster but it was scant consolation.

There was nothing poor about Munster, they were just simply outplayed by the Scarlets. The Scarlets deserved winners, i think?

If Munster don't change something it will be a rout against Quins in the Heineken Cup.

Rog cant be picjed vs Scotland he was badly outclassed vs a relative novice this evening. Penny is not earning his salary as Keatley should have been moved to 10 at half time a far more complete player. Scarlets were pretty good Munster as poor as i have ever seen. Played their strength last 3 mins and got a try. Sherry was captain ha as good a captain as Heslip i reckon. Penny should go end of season Foley in

Well ROG was so awful - no control of game and plackicking

absence? Maybe we should blood madigan and see

how he gets on?

Munster - what has happened to the winning machine?
