More great praise for Steffon Armitage I see. Can't wait to see him playing for England again.

Wilkinson has really opened up his game at Toulon I thought. I always had him down as a boring 10 but when you think how poor his forwards were at Newcastle and how dominant his forwards were with England at his peak the most sensible thing to do was strangle the life out of the opposition and keep the scoreboard ticking over. Toulon's galacticos up front means he can do the same there and with the sheer amount of penalties that come from close contact situations the points can rack up very quickly. The game against Harlequins highlighted this last season with the game killed off as a contest within 20 minutes. Once that buffer was there they started throwing the ball around more casually.

If you watch JW for the whole season, he doesn't play boring rugby. So to slam him for one game is really pushing it. Yes he played boring for England but those of us who watch Top 14 regularly knew that that was because Jonno wanted that style of play( Leicester stick it up your jumper and plod forward, Plan A. Plan B he never had one). Toulon last season were among the most exciting clubs whilst Perpignon were pretty terrible and there was a time when relegation was a strong possibility, so after one game to settle down, all this critisism is a bit rich. Toulouse weren't that inventive against Castres either, come to think of it.

Any side with Jonny Wilkinson playing at 10 will play ¿boring¿ rugby, as the guy said play to your strengths which in Jonnys case is kicking. Look at the England games when he was playing, ¿boring¿ rugby but it wins games including a world cup. Boring rugby wins games, look at Saracens boring style with another Jonny Wilkinson style 10.

I rather dought Toulon will care ,all that matters to them is the win and the points that go with it.As proffessionals that is and should be their primary concern
