Fitness boost for Dagg

Israel Dagg thinking

Should play: Israel Dagg

Israel Dagg is highly-likely to return to the New Zealand line-up that will face off with an out-of-form Wales side at the Millennium Stadium this Saturday.

The classy Crusaders player did not feature in the matchday squad against Italy last week due to sustaining a knock at Murrayfield the week before.

"I got a bit of an elbow to the head and kind of knocked out in the air and landed on my buttocks," the free-running 24-year-old told Newstalk ZB.

"Yeah, she was pretty tight for the first two days, but she's slowly loosened up and now I'm running freely."

@ruckingkiwi

True that...

Didn't see Richard Brown again after Jane fended him off and went in at the corner in a double tackle from Genia and someone else (Barnes?).

Lol. He is fast enough, too fast for my taste. Cheers

Cory Jane has the best fend in the game and has done for some years.

Ask Richard Brown, it ended his career.

@carpelone

Agree with what you say about Dagg keeping his mouth shut when he runs. Probably increase his speed slightly too with less wind resistance. Lol...

The double full back set-up (Dagg plus Jane) plus a line breaker out wide (Gear more than Savea) worked very well so far. Jane is also a very solid and skillful wing and has the ability to keep the defenders out, while getting additional momentum. The last try against Argentina was quite something.

Preest - how about Cory Jane? Winger/fullback as required, rarely makes an error at either. Taranaki's Andre Taylor wouldn't be far off either,

Always like when he is on the pitch. Jealous of the way NZ use their full backs, it is good to see their counterattacking skills.

Should cause havoc in Welsh territory. Wal-NZ should be a cracker, I expect that Welsh will bounce back and put in a good fight.

Izzy, please, just remember to keep your mouth shut when you run, it is not pretty and it is even dangerous.

@Paulo -- Mate, I have always been a Andre Taylor fan, I was born in Welling ton and grew up in Christchurch so naturally I support both the Hurricanes and the Crusaders. When Taylor emerged in his debut season I thought we had the future AB full back in him. You're right, once he improves a few facets of his game he will be in the running for sure. Dagg right now is the complete full back. He has the kicking game that Cullen didn't quite have and also the attack prowess.

PREEST - Andre Taylor currently in the UK with the Maori AB's IS Christian Cullen!!!!

SH will not select him for the AB's until his punting & defence improves . . . DAGG is strong on both of these.

Check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFI2AY9i_Io . . . expect him to be in the AB's 2015!!!

Dagg reminds me of Christian Cullen. He is a brilliant attacking fullback, and I'm not sure that any of the back up for Dagg are in the same calibre as he is.
