Final in France: Heineken Cup 2014
The ERC has announced that France will host the 2014 Heineken and Amlin Challenge Cup finals, with the venues and precise dates yet to be confirmed.
The games are set for the weekend of May 23-25.
Next season marks the end of the current accord governing the two tournaments with stakeholders in negotiation over alterations to the structure.
If English clubs and teams from the PRO12 fail to reconcile their differences, the 2013/14 campaign could be the last Heineken Cup of its type.

@hhlamazing - or a bribe to stand by the tournament. I'm not sure that this Saga is over yet - the French clubs are still making noises about format change (http://www.planetrugby.com/story/0,25883,16024_8108022,00.html), and (I may be wrong) but along with England, France have still given notice to quit.
There is also a new player in the discussions with South African clubs being mentioned.
Many more twists and turns yet I suspect.

For Gods sake. Don't they ever consider having it somewhere different. Why not let Italy have it for once. I know we're not likely to have Italian teams in the final, but then we're not forced to have any French teams in the final.

Good, delighted. Rewarded for standing by the tournament. Let the English try and setup a new event with the South Africans. The only possible solution with that is they allow the English in the Currie Cup, even better. Serves you right for thinking that you are bigger than one of the best tournaments in any sport. And if the Irish have the final in Dublin this year and no English next year why not France. Has not bee in France for a few years now.
