Former captain Mana Otai has become Tonga's new national coach, replacing Isitolo Maka who led the islanders' successful 2011 World Cup campaign.
The 43-year-old Otai played for Tonga as a back-row forward, captaining the team at the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa.
His appointment is for two years and his first task will be to lead the team to Europe in November where they play Tests against Italy and Scotland.
