Treviso centre Andrea Pratichetti will replace the injured Gonzalo Canale for Italy's upcoming Tests against New Zealand and Australia.
Italy face Tonga in Brescia on Saturday but according to an Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) statement he will not be considered for that Test.
Pratichetti, who made his debut for the Azzurri in Toronto against Canada last year, "has been called into the national squad for the tests against New Zealand and Australia," the statement read.
"He will join the Azzurri on Sunday in place of the injured Gonzalo Canale."
After the Test against Tonga, the Azzurri will then host the All Blacks at Rome's Olympic stadium on November 17 before taking on Australia in Florence on November 24.
