Robert Ebersohn: To play in Dubai and PE

Cheetahs centre Robert Ebersohn has joined the South African Sevens team for their upcoming tournaments in Dubai and Port Elizabeth.

Ebersohn arrived at the Blitbokke's headquarters in Stellenbosch on Monday with fellow Cheetahs players Phillip Snyman and Kevin Luiters.

The 23-year-old was a permanent member of the SA Sevens squad in 2008 and 2009 and was also released to play for them this time last year.

Blitzbokke coach Paul Treu was also interested acquiring the services of full-back Willie le Roux but he was not released by the Bloemfontein-based franchise as they begin their pre-season preparations ahead of the upcoming Super Rugby competition soon.

"Robert will play in two tournaments (in Dubai and Port Elizabeth)," Cheetahs back-line coach Hawies Fourie told the Volksblad website.

"The Blitzbokke also asked if Kevin could practice with them as he's being considered for Dubai."

Snyman played his last match for the Cheetahs in last week's promotion/relegation clash with the EP Kings. He will now focus solely on Sevens, replacing Cornal Hendricks in the Blitzbokke set-up.

The Dubai Sevens tournament will be played from 30 November 30 to 1 December, and the Port Elizabeth one from December 8 to 9.
