Butch James has announced that he will be joining the Sharks for next year's Super Rugby campaign.
The fly-half had been rumoured to be returning home to Durban since his contract with the Lions expired at the end of the Currie Cup. The former Springbok underwent medical tests last week and has now confirmed the switch.
"Officially Black & White for next year! Its good to be home!!" he wrote on Twitter on Monday night.
The Sharks plan to use the 33-year-old as back-up to Patrick Lambie and as a mentor for their younger fly-halves.

Don't need him; must mean Sale Sharks.

They really dont need him, money could have been better spent bringing up someone to be mentored by Pat Lambie, who is very mature and capable for his years, and there are much better choices as a backup.
James is mediocre now and wont bring anything to the Sharks game IMO, just a "used to be a big name" name signing which makes no sense to me.
Hopefully he'll have little impact since he'll either be injured or in the sin bin.

Still hard to believe this guy was the RWC winning fly-half. Great news for him.

'Right son, you hit him like this . . . with the shoulder. No no, you need to drop your arms.'
