Mistake admitted . I'm okay with that .

Make no mistake, the errors by jonker were farcical --even morne steyne looked horribly embarassed -- as I ve said a million times --these games should have a neutral ref-- a Kiwi --or even a northern hemisphere ref -- OR the TMO should be allowed to overrule the ref once the try has been scored ---simples

I'm always in two minds when it comes to issues with the ref's...
On one hand they directly impact the outcome of matches and, therefore, the future of clubs and players.
On the other hand, their job would be very simple if the players never made any mistakes or illegal plays.
So is it fair to critisise them for a few mistakes, when the players are making them all over the place?
I think the main issue is the lack of consistency across the board. We need all tournaments and matches reffed the same way, with the same things being given the same treatment. How else can players and coaches train? There needs to be less "interpretation" by the ref's and more direction from the IRB.
Then, perhaps, we'd all be a little more forgiving when they do make mistakes.

Having home town refs means that mistakes/incompetence is open to accusations of bias. Surely neutral country refs should always be used where teams from 2 different countries are playing. There are now enough local derbies in Super rugby to make this practical.

I lost respect for Marius Jonker in this game... I wouldn't go as far as saying he was biased, because that implies a conscious discrimination against the Brumbies - which is a bit harsh - but whether conscious or subconcsious, he clearly had a favourite in this game: the Brumbies already lost the match in his mind before he even blew the starting whistle.

IMHO Lyndon Bray has broken a golden rule which SANZAR supposedly holds dear "no public criticism of referees". Only good thing about this is now we can wave it in front of Bok_something / something_Bok.
Yeah is was a bad mistake but IMO there have been a few bad mistakes made by refs and assistants from all countries which have changed the score.
Brumbies will still top the Aussie conference and therefore still make the finals. So ultimately no long-term damage done.
I suggest SANZAR have a word with Bray, close the door on this as he has now opened a can of worms and will have no option but to now make apologies for all oversights of this nature.
Lets move on.

Lyndon Bray, you and the rest of New Zealand officials are the laughing stock of the rugby world. How can a country that produces such brilliant rugby players produce such horrible officials? How many refereeing mistakes have happened this season, yet you feel it necessary to intervene in this specific case. Why is that? Trying to paint a bad image of SA referees because everybody knows how useless NZ referees are? You people are honoustly overestimating your own intelligence and underestimating other's..

The consistency of the ref is difficult to quantify unless the match is scrutinzed by a panel of refs taking into consideration the position of the ref on the field. Maybe the Brumbies were more noticeable?

Well it was a blant mistake ,the player was even half tackeled / checked but allowed to continue as the player belived a whistle was comming .The players realy should have followed the old saying of playing to the whistle and just nailed him full stop .Lesson learned i feel by the Brumbies and every other player i feel as im sure every coach is showing the clip as a cautionary tale

Fantastic!!
Still waiting to hear from somebody about Bryce Lawrence.
He obviously made some mistakes (including missing a forward passing in the first Bulls' try) but I would expect now comments on any single mistakes.
By the way, where is Lyndon Bray from?
PS: It is a rethoric question.

Yet Bray has nothing to say about the Brumbies knockon behind their own goal line in the last 5 mints which wasn't blown either and ended with them scoring a try instead of the Bulls being awarded a 5m scrum. One questin: why are the world's worst referees (Kiwis) in charge or SANZAR's refereeing panel...and untul recently the IRB's too?

Good questions Jake, but you know what happens when you challenge a ref!!!!!

Now all they have to do is apologise for the forward pass in the lead-up to the Brumbies' first try.
