London Irish's All Blacks second row Bryn Evans has left the Exiles to join Biarritz in the Pro D2 league.
Get Reading reports that Evans has joined the relegated Top 14 side, on a one-year deal, after he battled to secure a place in London Irish's starting line-up last season.
This was because Wallaby utility back James O'Connor and Canada international back-row Jebb Sinclair were the first-choice duo as the two permitted non-Kolpak foreigners in the Exiles' squad.
And Evans appears to have dropped down further in the pecking order after London Irish signed fellow locks, Sean Cox from Edinburgh and Dan Leo from Perpignan for next season.
Evans joined the Exiles in 2011 and has represented them in 75 matches , scoring four tries. His stint at London Irish comes after he captained Hawke's Bay to the ITM Cup Championship and he has also played at Super Rugby level for the Blues and Hurricanes.
