Mitchell's move to Sale still on

Sale bound: John Mitchell

Despite his declaration that he wants to stay in South Africa with the Lions, John Mitchell continues to be linked with Sale Sharks.

A report in the Manchester Evening News suggests that Mitchell's move to Sale could be back on, with the former All Blacks boss arriving "possibly as soon as next week."

Mitchell was cleared of six misconduct charges earlier this week related to his time coaching the Lions, but still awaits the verdict on a further nine allegations.

Despite no comment from the club about Mitchell's next step, Diamond revealed that last week's substantial revelations regarding the restructuring at the club had been frustrating.

"It was a storm in a tea cup internally but it was leaked and it came out. The important thing is that we have all moved on," Diamond told the Manchester Evening News.

"We got the result last Friday night against London Irish and now we want to build on that."

I can see Danny Cipriani responding well under the Mitchell tutelage.

Sale - we'll give this much cash. Story roles out.

Lions - we'll this much more. Story roles out.

Sales - well raise you again. More 'news'.

Continues ad nauseum.

Can we have a proper story once negotiations have been completed please?
