I'm sorry but I fail to see why everyone is raving about Gilroy?! I agree that Matanavou is lucky to be in there but why Gilroy? He scored 1 good try v Munster and is quick. Never makes a hit or catches a high ball and doesn't appear to like contact-lapped tackle on O'Brien when he broke through. This is someone speaking from Ireland too. I'd have Nacewa long before him.

Would like to see PR do a HCup 15 from the teams that didn't make the finals to see how they compare.

@seapointer - O'Driscoll was great in the final, but only playerd three games - half that of Rougerie who in general has had a great season. Then you suggest that Fofana shouldn't make the list but can't tell us who should replace him, unless 'an other' and his two brothers are products of the Leinster academy.

Ireally cant fault PRs choices most where imense for their teams this HC.Also wouldnt be surprised if J.Muller gets a boks recall as he offers leadership as well as top class lineout and tackaling .He along with A.Brekker -E.Etbenez-J/Krugger i think wouldoffer some formidable combinations.

Matanavou scored some ridiculous tries but surely the fact that he pretty much single-handedly lost the game against Edinburgh for Toulouse by not being able to tackle or catch high balls means he can't be in the team?

APV1 says...

"Heineken Cup: XV of the Tournament" - it isn't. It's the "Heineken Cup: XV of the last four teams". Which is fine, but let's not pretend that there weren't some outstanding players who didn't get through to the semi-finals (PReven mention Mike Brown, as an example).

That said, there's not a lot I'd change. A few, perhaps, but not many. Rougerie failed to impress, but BOD wasn't there for most matches and everyone else is "disqualified" because they got knocked-out.

Only Healy, O'Brien and Sexton make it in. I fail to see what Rougerie, Fofana and

Matanavou did to make it in...fair enough i might have a leinster bias but really wiould gilroy the ulster wing not make it in plus drico's flip back hand pass not be worthy along with his display in france.....i think you have dropped the ball on this occasion PR

Kearney, Gilroy, Odriscoll, an other, Visser, Sexton, Pienaer, Wannaberg, OBrien, an other, Cullen, Touhy, Afoa, an other, Healy

No great Surprises here except for Leo Cullen not even getting a mention! 3 Heineken cups and a true great leader. As a Leinster fan i'm delighted for Kearney to get the ERC player of the year but you're correct in saying Ferris is the only other realistic contender. Ferris was immense in every aspect. For Kidney not to select Gilroy is truly terrible but is completely consistent with his overall management of the irish team, pick munster players. Don't get me wrong Zebo is good but still a bit off international standard defensively, Gilroy has the whole package. This is why www.kidneyclock.net was created! Ireland needs change.
