Both sides yesterday showed alot of promise but lets not forget this is a young Wales team albet more settled than England and experianced but still a young side and only been together for what 9-10months .Camparisions if they atre to be made should be rather against the present Australian side rather than say the ABs or France. They have the potential to be a great side but lets not to carried away even IF and its a big IF they sucure a slam this season .They still have along road to traval to be considered great imo. They still have to start wining consistantly over the SH teams ala England of 03 vintage .But the potential is there

If France find form though Wales are going to be made to look like nothing...especially if a brand new England side pushed them right to the edge and except for the 4 minute period at the end before Strettles disallowed try were on the books for a draw or an upset...

This narrow win by Wales puts in to perspective the dreadful decision by referee Barnes which cost Ireland the game against Wales! I think it is unprecedented for a disciplinery panel to find not only that Ferris did not merit further punishment but that the ref was wrong to award a penalty in the first place. Surely something can and should be done over wrong decisions by a ref that has such far reaching repercussions! this is the second year running that Ireland has been robbed of a legitimate win over Wales by sub standard referee's
Most other sports would be holding a post match enquiry into these games and if our sport was really strong and confident in its self the points should be deducted and both of the games awarded to Ireland. What action was taken if any against these incompetent refs? There is big money wagered on these games and an investigation should be made into all the facts surrounding these two games. The bookies should make their 'book' available to see who made bets and if there was any funny business!
