I think you could be right. In the above photo he does look like he has had a couple of interesting cigarettes - or maybe he is coming out of a general anaesthetic !!!.

They may just make the semifinal with a following wind and a great deal of luck, but they need Suzie to progress from there. You have to love them though ...and their long suffering supporters...4 wins in a row and now they are world beaters. If they do it, I'll do a polar expedition in a kilt.

and what if they don't?
Scotland may well feel that they can beat anyone on their day but that's just a rough translation of "not expected to win" and the truth is that anyone ranked from position 10 to 15 would probably feel that they could beat Scotland on their day.
Setting unachievable goals is pointless and counter productive unless the "how" makes it realistic. The problem with the how is that England, and wales are further along the rebuild curve than Scotland with a greater playing and financial resource than Scotland, they have access arrangements with a much broader range of clubs/regions than Scotland.
Short of doing a Graham Henry and trying to import a big pile of SH emigree offspring I don't see how they can do it.

News4ja... Wrong. Namibia would win.
Poor Scotland. Who needs enemies with an ex-team mate like that?
That said, we'll all get quieter if they grind out a 6 Nations win next year.

I don't see why Scotland can't win a six nations grand slam considering the players coming through. Wales went from wooden spooners in 2003 to winning the grand slam against the odds( they were 12- 1) in 2005.

@Centre12 get your facts straight, Scotland were in the semis in '91 and very close to the final as haj05 pointed out. We were actually very close in '07 as well. If we had attacked with ball in hand from the start of the game, we would have beaten a very out of sorts Argentinan side on that day. If it wasn't for an 87th minute try from Ntamack in '95 we would have topped the pool and faced the irish in the quarters and again, a semi final.
With the likes of Visser, Denton, Hogg, Laidlaw and Scott coming through I think Scotland can make the semis again, perhaps even the final. Winning in the final against the likes of NZ would be another kettle of fish however. OK so we might not win the world cup, but if that kind of optimism helps us reach the semis AGAIN... what is the harm in that?

Overall this seems a little silly, but you see what he's saying; the six nations is faaaaiiiirly tight, anyone beat anyone; and the
6 nations sides can beat the sanzar ones (albeit only occasionally) So what he's saying is bold but technically feasible.
Also, suspect Visser may well be first choice Lions wing next year. He may not be Scottish per se, but it's good news for them

tell you what Chris, do a three match series tour of any of the big 3, let me know how that goes! A first choice OZ, BLACKS or BOKKE side would absolutely destroy them. Well done on beating Oz second 15 and Fiji and Samoa but seriously, stop sniffing the glue!

Guys, there is a WC in 2051 ! That is what he meant, not 2015. Just a typo error.

@Centre12 - Scotland have made a semi in 91 & they weren't far off from making the final as well . Gavin Hasting famously missed a kick right out in front that would of tied the semi against England at 9 - 9 with 20 odd minutes to play, England ended up winning 9 - 6.

wow - training with Canterbury must have gone to his head.
Don't mind ambition but at least come out and say "we" could win the 6N's within 2-3 years & leave it at that not ridiculous wild baseless targets. Most posters on the article have included obvious reasons why it is completely unrealistic to set such a target.
You only need to look in Scotlands backyard to understand why these comments are blind arrogance - Scotlands sports administrators are on par with their council / councillors - inempt clueless muppets.

@Centre12
I think they could make a Semi, if they get a bit lucky with the draw and the weather. Unlikely to do more than that (i.e. one good game) but don't see any reason why they couldn't get the better of (for example) Ireland in a QF?
This would probably require someone else doing them a favour in the pool matches though - so that they could finish second in their pool, but still avoid NZ/Aus/SA in the QF.
First things first - they have to get into that Top 8, so give themselves a chance of an easier pool. Otherwise they'll have to pull off a big upset just to get into the QFs.

Absolute no chance, they can put together the odd good game but not 7 in a row against quality opposition!

Pie in the sky to be fair Scotland are a long way off winning the Six Nations let alone the World Cup. However, having said that I do think having watched Eng, Ire and Wales, Scotland are not that far behind them... depth of pool is where they will struggle.
