Scotland caretaker coach Scott Johnson has called up 13 additional players to his squad for Sunday's clash with Ireland at Murrayfield.

The only absentee from the 23 on duty in the victory against Italy nine days ago is Worcester Warriors prop Euan Murray who is unavailable for round three due to religious reasons.

Glasgow Warriors supply eight of the new squad members in Jon Welsh, Dougie Hall, Tom Ryder, John Barclay, Sean Kennedy, Alex Dunbar, Peter Horne, Peter Murchie.

The other players are: Alasdair Dickinson, Richie Vernon (both Sale Sharks), Grant Gilchrist (Edinburgh), Tom Heathcote (Bath) and Nikki Walker (Worcester Warriors).

The Scotland team to play Ireland will be announced on Wednesday.

As long as he can count to 15 for the players on the pitch, fair enough. If not SCW knows a good lawyer - Richard Smith - who's had some experience of defending cases of 16 playesr on the field...

13 more!?! I didn't think Scotland had than many players. Was there an Air New Zealand arrival at Edinburgh Airport on Monday or something?

I'd give Jackson another go to be honest. Although I have been very critical of him in the past I actually thought he had his best game for Scotland against Italy once he settle into the game.

Lamont was okay and played the best he has done for a while (apart from the crap box kicks), but I'd say give Dunbar a go and see if we can get quick ball out wide for the likes of Visser and Maitland... Maitland is the type of player who will sniff out scoring opportunities from deep and is not a selfish player... so anyone in support will benefit from his work.

Swap Dunbar for Lamont, Lamont to the bench.

Would like to see Weir swapped for Jackson too.
