Toulon look set to be without two of their big signings for their home opener with Leigh Halfpenny and Mamuka Gorgodze still struggling.
Welsh international Halfpenny has yet to feature for his new club, with an adductor problem having hampered his pre-season and kept him out of the warm-up games against Toulouse and Racing-Métro.
Gorgodze, in contrast, featured in the warm-up games, but injured his medial ligament in the clash with Racing, which caused him to miss Toulon's opening fixture of the Top 14 against Bayonne.
Their absences were not felt too keenly, with the reigning French and European champions reeling off an impressive 29-15 win at Jean Dauger.
This weekend Toulon will be red-hot favourites to make it two from two, as they take on promoted side La Rochelle, who were well-beaten by Brive on their return to the top flight.
But with neither Halfpenny nor Gorgodze having trained so far this week, it seems unlikely that either will be ready to make their competitive debuts at Mayol on Saturday.
Another player who is also set to miss out is Frédéric Michalak, who has been struggling with a calf problem.
That kept him out of the game at Bayonne, and so far this week he has not been able to train with the rest of the squad.
It's far from ideal for the French international, who will look to establish himself as Toulon's first-choice fly-half this season to keep his World Cup hopes alive.
There is some good news for Bernard Laporte however, with prop Xavier Chiocci ready to go despite a knock picked up on Friday.
