This was in the amateur era,.. Wales lost alot of good player in those days, John Deverau, Phil Ford, Scot Gibbs, Scott Quinell, Dai Bishop,... were all part of that exodus, I'm Welsh and have no hard feelings about wanting to play a sport you excel at professionally. Johnathan Davies may be an irritating big mouth with one big Welsh eye,.. but he was up there with the best in both codes,.. and also played league with the Bulldogs in the SH,.. he was an outrageously talented player... one of the best Wales has ever produced. He's been there and done it,.. if he can't advise young players,.. who can?

That's a bit rich coming from Davies, he not only deserted Wales (who can blame him), but turned his back on Rugby Union, just to earn an extra shilling.

JD is right its not hust the money ,its also wining titles and cups .Which to be honest he has more chance of doing with a big french club atm than with a welsh one (no insult to welsh club rugby intended ).The dominace of the Pro12 by Leinster and Munster is well established and the welsh club record in europe (Heineken) is dismal to say the least .If they really want to keep their good players that has to change asap imo.As that can be a big motavation for a player to move espically if coupled with a 100%-200% wage rise

"It's not always the money which is best," Davies told Scrum V.

So why doesn't Jiffy coach instead of commentating then???
