Attwood and Wilson staying at Bath

David Attwood Bath v Sale 2012

Extension: Dave Attwood

Bath have announced that lock Dave Attwood and tighthead prop David Wilson have extended their contracts with the club.

Two young, English forwards, Wilson and Attwood have become mainstays in a Bath front-five that has shown remarkable consistency this season.

Wilson's form this season has seen him be named in every England match-day squad of this year's Six Nations, and Attwood's performances at the Rec must see him knocking on England's door once again.

"I am very happy to have extended my contract with the club," said Attwood.

"The opportunity to be coached by this team in this environment means that I don't want to be anywhere else. We are on a journey, and we all believe that we will get to the top in time. I'm extremely excited to be a part of it."

Wilson added: "Bath has become home for me now and I love the club."

"Everything a professional needs to excel is here - from coaching to facilities - and I feel very excited to be at a club that has so much support and ambition. I wouldn't be anywhere else."

Excellent, excellent! Here's hoping both go to Argentina this Summer and give Lancaster something to think about!

Awesome news bath holding onto real english talent for once, sounds like bath have a culture people are really buying into now. We just need to sort out our inability to convert academy talent into premiership stars, Sir Ian started to buck that trend during his ill fated tenure with Heathcote, Olly woodburn, KPN, Mercer, Catt, Williams all progressing well, since then most these guys have been given no chances and we have gone back to the norm of paying big money for players rather than developing our own talent like harlequins, tiggers, saracens, gloucester do so very well...and to be honest unless you are allowed to spend the money Toulon are developing your won stars is the only way to long term success
