Against the ABs we put Tevez, Messi and Kun Aguero...that's it.

I don't necessarily agree with anything amaboko said, but interesting that you've assumed he/she is an "islander"? Based on what, might I ask?

(p.s. What exactly do you mean by an Islander? It sounds like you think they are from NZ, but typically in NZ an Islander is someone from the Pacific Islands - Fiji, Samoa, Tonga etc)

@PR the team may be a bit Argentina heavy albeit a team of the week which some seem to miss. What I do like about it though is it has once again got jonesy2 "the know it all xenophobic" distressed - keep up the good work.

It will be interesting to see how many Pumas are in the team once they have played in Wellington. 3 or 4 would have been a fair pick this time. Will be found out big time when game is played at pace however.

No MaCaw what a joke. I admire the Argies effort but they will be spanked against the AB's and one of the key reasons will be MaCaw-still the best!

@MacTavish

@StunTheMullet

Take a look at the player ratings after the Auckland test. PR reckoned no one in the ABs' front seven deserved more than 6/10. You would think they were the beaten pack.

But I'm with you guys on this matter.

Why would PR play Cory Jane on the left wing when he has no experience there? He is an outstanding fullback and Israel Dagg is an outstanding left wing. Doh. Play Jane at 15 and Dagg at 11.

And I don't know how much experience Lobbe has at 7, but apparently PR rates him a better openside than McCaw or Coetzee. Can I say "doh" again? No, stick Read at 6, where he has plenty of experience, and Lobbe at 8

But really, PR is messing too much with the numbers here. I thought the object was to pick the best performance in each position. Do that and of course some good players will miss out.

ah planet rugby how can one take you seriously. argentina draw with south africa at home and they get all the spots. arguably the greatest rugby side ever produced smashes the next best team in the world on their way to getting the most prestigious trophy in rugby again and they get a few obvious choices. you need to take a long hard look at yourselves PR.

Congrats to the Argentina, played some fascinating rugby against the power of the Springboks, but honestly is it legal to have a International team without Richie McCaw as Captain, lead brilliantly the last 2 games, ask the Wallabies, most inspirational player and leader on the planet and if he's not there who the heck is gonna ref the game (lol)

Posted 06:35 28th August 2012

georgesmith says...

No Wallabies in the team. Should we be surprised? Sounds like a joke. I'm sure a lot of people will agree that N. Sharpe played heaps better than P. Albecete and the veteran is the next best thing in the Wallabies. .

B.Barnes used to be great once but not anymore. 2 below-par Test matches, he needs to be discarded. It's just unfortunate. B. Barnes had potential but injuries have destroyed him.He will never get to that level again. So much aimless kicking by B. Barnes. He has no confidence to break a line and run or even provide a quality passes. For such an experienced player to continue kicking aimlessly every time he gets the ball is preposterous. If he was in North Korea, he would be whipped in public before sending home. He just doesn¿t have it anymore like his coach R. Deans. Wallabies need to invest in B.Tapuai.

If B.Barnes can¿t play well against All Blacks then he should just take a break and give better players a chance to try and help Wallabies win.

Richie McCaw has been the best openside flanker on show both weekends in a row.

At least in my drunken state, Argentina looks like Australia with my blurry eyes, Both start with A and end with a, unfortunately this week, that's where the compassion ends. Well done Arggies.

I'm not an alcoholic, I only drink when McCaw is offside !!!

Does it really matter who PR choose in their XV of the week, silverware is all that counts.

Rude_80 says...

@amaboko How can you say ....: "Their mediocrity is saved by enthusiasm".

Are you kidding me! Their scrum, line out, mauls and break downs were better than the boks, even running the ball. Their try was after eight phases. All these islanders have an ego because of the All Black. Remember dear islander, you've got nothing more than rugby and sheep.

I say that for this reason:

@amaboko

hmmm seems like the favorite word of the week is "TURN UP" :), which a lot of guys did not.

still it seems to me that AK writes this based on comments at a pool bar in Dublin :P

Posted 18:10 27th August 2012

Lucasrg says...

@PAMPA.

That Argentina is better than Italy there's no questions about it, but when you say half of the Italian squad is Argentinian, then you should know that in the last couple of years we had 3/5 non-Italian born players.

ArmchairGeneral says...

I thought Australia's best player was Pocock. Like the others he didn't show up, but he did it properly.

Well done Argentina but 6 players is just favouring the new boys too much. However they should have won against a Bok team that did turn up with a very physical intensive game but also with a plan precisely designed to fail in Mendoza.

Terry_English says...

Too many Argentines against a poor South African side! Looking at your selection you would think that the Argentines would have a chance of beating New Zealand, and yet when they get beaten badly by the All Blacks and your selections will look foolish.
