Referee Romain Poite has had to withdraw from Sunday's Heineken Cup match between Edinburgh and Munster at Murrayfield due to illness.
Poite will now be replaced by English referee Greg Garner, who has impressed in the Aviva Premiership and refereed at the Junior World Championship in 2012.
It's the second successive time Poite has been forced to withdraw from a Munster Heineken Cup game. He missed the Saracens game at Thomond Park in December.

He's also currently one of the worst referees in the game. only George Clancy comes close to his inadequacy. his refereeing in open play is apalling, he is terrible at dealing with players and ironically, being a so called scrum specialast referee (no idea where that comes from) he literally guesses which side to penalise at scrum time. he seems to have awfual games against all teams, but particularly munster and leinster, but the less games he referees, the better. rugby will be better off when this man retires

I suspect an Irish conspiracy: isn't that Poite who sent off O'Connell a few seasons ago, basically (and deservedly) for talking too much? And O'Gara almost followed... Eventually Munster won (that was a QF or the decisive last pool match against Northampton) but it was good to see those big mouths shut for once!
