Munster: Dispatch sorry Glasgow

Munster flank CJ Stander bagged a brace of tries to help his team to a comprehensive 31-3 Pro12 win over Glasgow on Saturday.

Three tries in the first half laid the foundations for a bonus-point victory against a lacklustre Warriors outfit.

Munster headed into the match in good form, though they'd ended a run of victories with defeat at home to Scarlets a week earlier, while Glasgow were looking to bounce back from a 0-6 home reverse against Leinster.

Glasgow struck first on the night, though any early hope instilled by Duncan Weir's fourth-minute penalty was quickly dispelled by the hosts' emphatic response.

Less than five minutes later, Munster hit the front when CJ Stander pounced for his first try for the club, converted by Ronan O'Gara, and the score was followed up a quarter of an hour later by a second converted try for the hosts.

Tommy O'Donnell was the man to get over the line, breaking through the defensive line to score following good work from James Coughlan.

O'Gara again added the extras, and he was on target twice more before half-time, adding a penalty on 37 minutes, before converting Stander's second try of the evening on the stroke of half-time after the South African had shown great pace to score.

At 21-3, Glasgow had a mountain to climb in the second half if they were to salvage something from the game, while Munster appeared content to sit on their lead.

As time ticked away, it became apparent that there'd be no way back for the visitors, though Munster were able to underline their superiority with a penalty try in the final ten minutes of the match, converted by O'Gara.

Anti-Munster by any chance. The penalty try decision was very harsh but blowing up 5 seconds early made no difference. Wasnt home ref at all
