Scrumpoacher - the salary cap? read the news about an Australian franchise being investigated for fraud in concealing player payments; seems the cap has not been adhered to anyway with a top playe' - " lucrative funds were instead funnelled straight to just one player, who, if he did not get a salary rise, was threatening to leave." Wait for the hearing on the 23rd July.

@ nastyned - I think you'll find that GoWalesGo has an unusual dislike for all things "Pacific Island". No idea why, but have a look at the Fiji tour with no sponsor thread and you'll see his obvious distain on display.
Peculiar, really.

Soap-poacher, show me a Saffer team, or a Kiwi team with an Aus Influence and your arguement may carry almost weight as one of your props????

Hi Scrumpoacher,
You obviously don't know that SA gives both Ozz and NZ a huge whck of money each year via the Sanzar equal sharing issue. So please do not talk ab out us not keeping up...

Easier said then done mate. They've tried that and it failed big time. Keep in mind that Australia is basically the size of the US, funding a national semi pro comp is a very expensive thing to do, never mind creating actual interest for it.

Just goes to show that there shouldn't have been a fifth franchise awarded to Australia, they just don't have enough players. It should have been awarded to a Pacific Islands team.

Proof positive that the Super 15 has too many teams, Oz needs to lose 2 and NZ and SA 1. Oh Super 12 then!

Spend some money on an Australian competition ala itm/currie cup and you may not need the imports in future. Also get rid of the salary cap. If the saffers and kiwis can't keep up that's their problem...
