The conference system is a farce. Even though it favours Australian teams, there is only one in the play-offs. Although by points the Reds are in 6th spot, the farcical conference system puts them in 3rd! This puts South African teams in particular at a great disadvantage. If teams were fairly ranked by points, the Crusaders should actually be hosting the Reds in the play-offs, and the Bulls the Sharks - in South Africa (rather than both the Bulls and the Sharks having to travel across the world). It is patently unfair and I can't believe nobody is challenging it.

@ Dangerous

It can't work that way, stormers play the lowest ranked winner, witch would be the Cursaders in your scenero. How unfair is the conference? The reds get home advantage with only 58 points.

Aus conference total points=210

SA=247

NZ=264

Tell me that's fair?

Good luck to the Reds for scraping through however there has been a lot of previous debate about the rights and wrongs of the conference system and with the Reds being ranked 3rd whilst having the least points and getting home advantage must surely fall into the wrong category.

@ Dangerous

I agree on that but what about the final?

Agree Dangerous

And hopefully a Stormers Chiefs final. Both teams deserve it - plus itll be refreshing to see another team take that trophy.

The Reds were superior to the Brumbies so they def deserve finals spot, but a home game? The conference system is good to Oz.

@Dangerous is that possible?

Both Bulls and Sharks can b dangerous teams on their day. Both well capable of causing an upset. depends on wat players are available for the coaches.

Reds come 6th but get the home quarter-final spot! What rubbish. Happy for one team from each conference making finals, but the placings should be where they finish on the table! Joke! Kiwi supporter but the Crusaders should be hosting the Reds!
