Anthony Boric: Coming back from neck surgery

All Black lock Anthony Boric will turn out for the first time in nearly a year when he plays for the Blues Development team on Saturday.

Boric has been sidelined since undergoing surgery last year on a neck injury but is now ready to take a big step forward in his recovery.

"Anthony has been progressing well, and he is working hard to get a starting spot in the Blues," Blues Development coach Bevan Cadwallader told the franchise's official website.

"He will bring a massive amount of ability and experience to the game but it is more about him just getting into some work."

Boric, who has been capped 62 times for the Blues and has 24 Tests to his name, took part in an internal practice match this week but Sir John Kirwan decided that he needed to get more playing time under his belt before making the step up to Super Rugby.
