Was it me, or did Kearney suffer a "Campo" moment. Admit he was the best of a bad bunch in the Ireland side but, when he dropped that field kick it all came flooding back.

Lads, do you REALLY think Ferris and Kearney are going into these interviews and saying what they like? What a player can and can not say is effectively discussed before a mic is placed in front of them. These are orders from the media department or coaching staff. There is absolutely no way a ship run by Declan Kidney would allow this if it hadn't been given the green light from someone.
France have been at it for years, especially when little Morgan Parra is roloed out with a list of things in his mind he is allowed to say.
Come on! Wake up......

Lads, shut up. A victory against the Welsh that you contrived to turn into a loss.
A certain victory against the French you turned into another loss, Im not sure how, maybe through some fomr of black magic?
A win over an Italian team in a transation period.
A win against Scotland which looks good until you realise that the Scots (Grey aside) never turned up.
This has been a woeful campaign and these two goomba's have not earned the right to run their mouth. I think England will win and with their management doing everything I wish ours would, I will not begrude them that.
P.S Rob, learn to f**king tackle and then do your interviews.

I think its refreshing to hear players being honest. Fact is Ireland have dominated the meetings between these teams since England won the WC. If not for the hex France have over Ireland we would have won at least 3 or 4 grand slams. I hate the platitudes that are constsntly bandied around in professional sport these days and few are more culpibile than Declan Kidney or even Brian O Driscoll and its good to hear some honesty for a change. Having said that, they now have to back their words up with actions. I have no doubt they will though, when Ireland are in the mood they play at a far higher intensity than other team in the 6 nations. 'Mon Ireland!

All teams have their bogey teams for England in recent years its been Ireland just as England have been to France .It lasts for some time then things change in the past Wales where Englands bogey team .This doesnt mean that any team are superior though just that they have had a good run run against that team .Sooner or later the run will end and as an englishman i hope its this weekend lol

Who elected Kearney and Ferris as team spokesmen? This is very unusual for Irish players to spout even though its very mild stuff.... and factual.
Go for it Ireland and keep the foot down on the Rose...a ruthless pruning is in order!

As an Englishman i have to say i agree with Kearney. Ireland have beaten us so many time sover the past 8 or 9 years because they have been better. Not particularly controversial in my opinion. Having said that, its always dangerous to talk yourself up before a big game which will obviously be tight. I just hope England carry on improving because we have played rubbish against Ireland at times. Its not so much that the skills on show have been better from Ireland, its been more about them tackling harder, hitting the rucks harder, carrying the ball with more purpose, and just basically bullying England. Im positive that won't happen on saturday though. C'mon England!!!

I wonder if the palyers ever say what is attributed to them, or is it their ghost writers.
On the 2001 Lions, the English pair Healey and Dawson distanced themselves from what was printed in (I think) The Mail.
They get paid for putting their name to the piece of (usually cr^p journalism.
Same here?

What are Ireland at? First Ferris now Kearney...Ireland should know better than any team that some of our better wins were against opposition who put both their feet in their mouths...

Big Tackle: "And Ferris called the English arrogant...."
Read the article again please.
He did not call the English arrogant. He said that the English team "I suppose come with the Tag of being arrogant"
Facts please instead of misquoting a player who's comments actually complimented England.
I have a feeling England will bag this one. They clicked last weekend, albeit against a shocking french performance, and the added atmosphere of Twickers and wanting to stamp all over the paddy's day parade.
England by 5. Painful to say.

@ jehosophat
Just looking at the trophies doesn't tell the whole story,.. Ireland have beaten every home nation and won the triple crown four times since England last won it in 2003..... 04/06/07&09,... if you rate his trophy or not,.. overall they have done better than any of us since world cup 2003... maybe not in championships,.. but by being consistanly up there when the fat lady sings... in fact,.. since 2003 the only better team has been France,...

@ jose_jones - I agree Ireland have played some attractive rugby in the last 10 years, along with Wales I love watching them play and support them against anyone but England. Love watching Leinster too (thought not always Munster so much).
My point is - the results tell another story. Ireland always seem strong in all areas of the park and certainly have a great record against England, but one 6N in 2009, and one 5N before that in 1985, and poor WC results, don't speak of something Kearney really ought to be shooting his mouth off about.
You can't argue with results, that is what sport is ultimately all about, and the results show France and (assuming they take their third slam since the 03 WC this weekend) Wales are the consistent NH performers since the 03 WC. None of the other teams have fulfilled their potential. Fact.

@ jehosophat,... I think Ireland have been one of the top teams in Europe for the best part of ten years now,.. in my (neutral) view, in that time they have set the standard as far as the British Isles have been concerned... more consistant than both Wales and England,.. Up there with the French.
Ireland are playing well,. even if they are not hitting their own high standards,.. they were one of the favourites going into this competition and it's well within them to go to London and win.

"In the build up to the game we won't speak about the rivalry". Anyone else thinking it's a bit late for that?
Pretty immature comment about being the better side for the last 8 years too - England's bogey side maybe, but France (with 4 wins) have dominated the 6N since 2003, and indeed if you look back further. Wales have two. Ireland and England have one win apiece, and Ireland have had two pretty woeful world cups in that period, plus you have to go back to 1985 for Ireland's previous 6N/5N win before their 2009 triumph. So the stats don't really back that up...

as a passionate/frustrated irish supporter I just wish they would stfu and do the talking on the pitch. England don't need any more motivation than the memory of last year's loss in Dublin. Soon as you start believing the hype is when you get handed a hammering ROB
