what a joke and so obvious may i say. planet rugby and vincent clerc were talking about this as far back as monday. irish fans should boycott the re arranged match. france should play their games in the south anyway, thats where the majority of rugby is played. gay

preety disgraceful behaviour by the 6 nations organisers, i really dont understand why the match cant be played the next morning, it would at least give people a chance to see the match. in times of recession people really dont have the time or money to go to one of the most expensive capitals of europe for no reason. disgusted with it, televison shouldnt be the deciding factor for when to play a match, it should be when the players feel most comfortable and when the pitch is at its best state.

If it is rescheduled for March 2nd it'll be an absolute farce for the teams involved. 4 in a row...

The real shame is that the game could have been played at 3PM, wouldn't the 6 Nations committee have put its veto... very amateurish indeed.

To be honest i wasnt to surprised at the call off but i did expect it alot earlier in the day .It will be interesting to see how this affects the championship now .With warmer weather forecast for all next week hopefully it can be played in what was supposed to be a rest week next Saturday.Even if its at a differant venue like the parc du prince as there is a top 14 game being played at stade du France next Saturday. The quicker its played the better i feel

replay the game in Dubai... or somewhere where there is certainty of game going ahead. Europe could be under the greay white for months

To my knowledge, the ref only has the decision, if the two teams cannot decide.
If both teams wanted to ply, then play.
The ref can always call it off later.
Or was he mindful of the 60 rule?

If that was a soccer crowd there would have been a riot...feel particulalry sorry for any Irish people who made the journey. The pitch was always going to be unplayable, should have moved the match to a different stadium...

New date was announced march 2nd, absolute joke in this day and age that it couldn't have been either called off earlier or the FFR could have implemented proper facilities to ensure that the pitch was ok due to the lack of under soil heating. Not 1 sheet of plastic and 3 large hair dryers as was present

Absolute joke, these decision should been made 24+ hours before kick off!!
I feel for the fans that wasted money making the trip, especially the Irish fans.

The pitch has been in this condition all week so waiting until the eleventh hour to cancel it is totally out of order. Player health is always the first consideration but a wee bit of foresight on behalf of the RBS 6N committee would go along way. I believe that they should also be responsible for the travel costs for those brave enough to risk another trip to France when the game is re scheduled.......

Dave Pearson makes another wrong call. Quelle surprise....
Stade de France doesn't have undersoil heating, it was built on the cheap for the football world cup (which takes place in June) so the match was never going to be on given the extreme temperatures day and night in Northern France. Pressure from TF1 television to show the match at night (9.00 p.m. local time) means that playing at minus 6 was never really going to happen. In all amateurism gone to the extreme.
