@adamk I read your post. Blessing in disguise, load of crap. You'd swear Earls was the Diego Forlan of Ireland. It's a joke. Prob played 4 matches at 13 for Ireland and yet you already write him off as useless. Yes he's a better wing but also offers alot in attack for Ireland in centre. McFadden has barely played that much at 13 for Leinster for this season and you think he's the answer. Wake up. He's a 12, not 13. Yet Earls pulling out of the match is apparently a miracle...cop the f**k on

@mcdb06 You clearly didn't read my post and only quoted the part that suited your argument.

I already said I hope he and his child are okay. For what it's worst my best wishes go out to them.

However the 'blessing in disguise' part is to refer to Earls' ability at center. OR rather, lack there of. Yes, Earls may have a greater skill at step and attack than McFadden, but McFadden is the safe bet at 13. He's jumped the line once or twice but you can be sure he's learned since the Russia game and has put in some seriously good defensive games for Leinster since then. Earls has played most of his games for Munster since then at 13 and has had a mare at all of them except for the NH game. So yes, for a game point of view it may be a blessing in disguise, as he would've been badly shown up.

Blasphemy blasphemy blasphemy!!! Stone the heretics that dare to question the official story.... The word child was used... it MUST be true.

it's not like anyone is claiming his grandmother died...

The man's new born baby is ill in hospital and people call that a blessing in disguise? That's f**king disgusting. Dont know how people can say that sort of thing. And Earls is a class player, better than McFadden who has been around as long as Earls and not exactly lit the rugby world up. Admitttedly Earls isnt as good as BOD but neither is McFadden who isnt proven in any position yet.

Hope the baby gets well soon! Nothing else could possibly matter more than health of kids or people you love.

Ok best of luck to the kid and I hope McFadden seizes the chance and doesn't let go of the Jersey...for the forseeable future.

Note to self: Read article before commenting.

I had read the BBC article first which was extremely vague and made no reference to his daughter, then I just quickly posted this without even reading the bit oabout his daughter.

Hopefully everything is OK!!

As an England fan I hope Earls's daughter makes a full recovery. Rugby is as nothing compared to your children. I can only assume those querying this here do not have families of their own and don't know the anguish that Earls and his wife are probably going through right now.

My best wishes and prayers for Earls daughter and i hope she recovers quickly and is well from now on .Right decision by the mangament and Earls as family must come 1st imo after all it is only a game in the end even if professional..As with other posters here i feel it maybe a clessing in disguise for Ireland though as Earls is a winger imo and not a center and givren the size and pace of the welsh backline Ireland need good tacklers to stop them on the gain line .Also McFaddan gives another kicking option .Its going to be a hard close game i feel but i think Ireland will nick it by 3-6 points

irrespective of whether or not earl's' daughter is ill, earls was always going to be pulled out of the squad due to family commitments.

@danielmakk maybe you didn't read the part about his newborn being ill. This is not media hype but reality and think it is insensitive to hint at being otherwise. No matter what team you support in rugby or what country you are from I think the concern should be for his newborn daughter and not your weak attempt at trolling

No, his baby is ill. Family first. Let's hope he's ok.

@danielmakk

No. Earls' new baby is ill in hospital and as such it would be unwise to start Earls in this game.

Reason reported for Keith's withdrawal from team is that his newborn daughter is ill in hospital.

My thoughts go out to the family at this time. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for the little one.

Feel sorry for Earls and hope his daughter is ok, but as an Irish rugby fan I'm delighted great for Ireland and Dave Kearney is the best choice on the bench. He just has a slight edge on Zebo at the moment.

Although I am concered about Deccie, is he ok??? How come he didn't call up his favourite son Paddy Wallace???

No man!!!

Don't be ridiculous. kidney always said they're Men first, Players Second.

His kids sick and all the best to him and his family. Nothing more.

Not rub salt in on Keith here but i feel this may be a blessing in disguise with Roberts declared fit. Ferg has the better defensive game to cope.
