cullen shouldnt have been in the squad to start with,he is the same as mick o driscol,a worker but thats it..this kidney biassed towards munster is ridiculas, how come there isnt any talk of darcy inclusion in the squad when he ,like a lot of the older generation, need to be washed out

@pog_mahone I totally overlooked McCarthy - you're bang on.
The myth that Jamie Heaslip is off form persists among the Munster posters on PR. People like liam2me should take the blinkers off and try actually watching the other provinces' matches before posting.

Hougie, I think Tuhoy only has one or two caps from the tour down under when most of the starters were injured. He certainly hasn't had a fair crack, no one in the 2nd row has, obvisously that's because PO'C and DO'C have been there. I also think he's more dynamic than Ryan but as he's Munster, Kidney must pick him!

Excuse me lads but has Tuohy not been given ample opportunity to play for Ireland and has seen test experience and not really shone? All those people talking up Jennings and given his chance he fails. Same as Tuohy, Tuohy has played alright but didn't exactly put his hand up to say hey I want to be a regular test player.
Heaslip has rested on his laurels too much - I like him as a player but by god does that man think he is one of the best 8's in the world. He isn't regarded in the Southern Hemisphere - that to me is a big pointer to his real quality. Too worried with Twitter is right.
Coughlan is abrasive and combat-able but is 31. If he was 23 this would be a great call up but alas he will only be there to train as an extra number

Listen- as a Leinster supporter Kiddingme's policy of Munster-player-out->Munster-player-in is sickening, as is his choice of a Munster player wherever it is even slightly feasible. Sure, he only managed to drop his pet donkey O'Leary because Murray had come through down south.
But can you imagine how pissed-off supporters of Ulster are, whose players are routinely overlooked despite their form. Trimble now gets a shout- but he's been playing outstanding rugby consistently for 2 and a half years! Tuohy is a huge talent, and he's not getting a look in. It drives me mad. Never mind supporters of Connacht or Irish lads playing abroad.
We need Piss-filter taking a long stroll off a short peer a.s.a.p.. I've been saying it since 2009... he's failed to adapt, he's dug his heels in and he can't think. He's just so bloody predictable... the southerners and France are a given, but if even Wales can work him out, then it looks grim.

No disrespect to Coughlan, but hes there to hold tackle bags, pure and simple. 2 days ago he wasn't in the top 53 players in the country, and now hes jumped into the top 24? I don't think so. Senior squad will be made up of the 23 players currently in senior squad who were at the world cup and an additional 7 from the wolfhounds after the game on saturday. Coughlan won't be in Ireland squad, nor will O'Mahony. Tuohy/Toner/McCarthy/Henry/Muldoon/McLaughlin/Ruddock might.

Absolutley ridiculous. I understand still getting results but we need to look to the future as well. Calling up Coughlan (even though he's playing well) is a backwards step. People like Henry and O'Mahony need to be in the squad and gaining experience.

Coughlan deserves it, on form, but as a replacement for Heaslip who's too busy worrying about twitter to lift his game. Touhy surely was the first choice?
I would love to see an Irish backrow of 6. Ferris, 7. POM, 8. SOB

Surely Tuohy will be called into the squad after the Wolfhounds game? Seems like Kidney wants to give the younger players involved some game time in that match. I'm hoping that the senior squad is just a training squad and that there will be changes before 6N starts.
Theres no denying Coughlan has been super consistent the past few seasons, but a second row he isn't.

and I'm going to put in a word for Mike McCarthy playing out of his skin all season and covers both second row and back row unlike Coughlan who's an 8 (albeit with recent form as good as Heaslip). Dropped from WC squad because he isn't from Munster but should be given a chance now because he'd be replacing a non-Munster player so not stealing a spot from Kidney's pets. Echo curates_egg, sick of Kidney too, although I think the 2 year contract has more than a little to do with it (very bad timing from IRFU, what are they thinking).

Tuhoy made a lot of mistakes in Clermont as a Leinster fn i was very impressed by Coughlin against the saints he was a very good ball carrier.

strange call but i reckon its more to fill th void in the squad with regards trianing. Tuohy or Toner may be able to push their way into the squad based on the wolfhound's performance. As for Henry, he's in the wolfhounds to get a game, unlike Jennings who want with the senior squad.

Ulster players (and fans) must be absolutely fuming - justifiably so. I was certain Tuohy would be getting the call up in Cullen's place. If you were going to choose an Irish back row on form though, you would surely pick Henry (who has a future ahead of him - unlike 31 year-old Coughlan).
I am soooooo sick of Kidney.
