What about Gopperth? Is he staying on. He was a pretty useful flyhalf back in NZ. I would have thought he would be one player that should be playing in the premiership, but then I haven't seen that much of him lately???

Good decision by Newcastle... they can now concentrate on the new season. Be interesting to see if Deano can work his magic once again.

Newcastle will be back but they'd be best to make sure they do it at the first attempt if they can. The Championship is a hard league to get out of and teams can end up staying for a lot longer than expected. Just ask Bristol fans, they'll be embarking upon their 4th attempt at getting back to the Prem next season and they're arguably a bigger club than Newcastle.

5Lock4ward- Not sure i agree about Murray. I think he's a bit over rated. I do think he is a Prem standard player but he doesn't always get a game for Scotland and how many clubs will be willing to take a punt on a player who refuses to play on Sundays. Legitimate as his reasons are, I don't think, in times of austerity, many clubs would be willing to take a player who will miss about 1/3 of the games before even taking in to account injuries and suspensions.

I wonder what this means for Euan Murray. Certainly he should be playing with a top tier team.

I hope they'll be back next season stronger than before...they certainly seemed to be improving towards the end of last season...
