Hey, my family has a strict 'two counties' rule for dating and marriage, and the webbing gets removed at birth these days!

We used to take a beating from all those aforementioned clubs on a regular basis!

@lawynd

Living in Essex we were taught that the only reason incest stopped in Norfolk was because of the invention of the bicycle...:))

Some good clubs out that way Diss, North Walsham, Wymondham and Holt to name but a few.

@ lawynd - Norfolk, eh? That explains your penchant for the Tigers - I always though you were a little peculiar.

So how is your sister / mother / aunt / cousin? I hear that when you married her, it was one of the happiest days of your brother / uncle / father's life.

;-)

I've had many a good night out in Bath, being from Norfolk myself the West Country is like a home away from home. ;)

APV1 says...

@ lawynd - and as places for a good session go, you're hard pressed to beat Bath.

lawynd says...

The problem with Adams Park is it's in High Wycombe...not the greatest place in the world for a decent session to be honest. Reckon there'll be much movement on that (playing location) once new funding is secured? It's not the same Premiership without Wasps (and Bath!) having competitive teams.

@lawynd

No hiding the fact your a Tigers man with that offer... Bath & Wasps in the top 4 theres more chance of Argentina beating the All Blacks than that.

I detest us being at Adams Park so much I never hang around there for a beer if I can avoid it.... seriously considering a Quinns season ticket so I can watch some good games in a decent ground.

IPA at Adams Park? Surely it'd be Carling, right? ;)

My contribution to this is that if Wasps and/or Bath make the top four, I'll buy you both a pint!

Posted 15:19 20th July 2012

APV1 says...

@ Headhunter99 - You're on! I suppose it'll be a pint of Greene King IPA if Wasps win and Thatchers if Bath do.

(But I'm not bying lawynd a pint of caterpillars if the Tigers do it!)

C'mon Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaath!

The English are obsessed with size, usually at the cost of skill.

Yes, what you say is true, but believe me, not all English rugby fans like it.

Mucky D's and pub! there ya go George, keep to that regime for two months and 10KG will be a breeze! :D

@APV1

I've no doubt you do, as a Wasps fan I've always enjoyed the hospitality and banter encountered at The Rec... its just a shame that a lot of it is in a West country language I can't understand.

Bet you a pint Wasps finish higher than Bath this coming season...

APV1 says...

@ Headhunter99 - ouch! And I always have a pint (or few) of zoider at the match!

I have no issue putting on weight - pizza, red wine and sitting on my ar$e does that easily.

Thats what happens when your a Bath supporter ....

Oh come on all you doubters. I never hear a Welshman complain that Lee Halfpenny has become rubbish since he put on a considerable amount of muscle. He's up there with the best 15s in the world, partly because he can handle himself in contact and can be quite ruthless in defence. I don't see how it should be any different with Ford.

NHsaints says...

Hmm seems a bit off to aim for 10kgs! Anyone who knows anything about muscle gain knows that 10kgs in that time is a push even with putting fat on too! Maybe 10kg over the next year...that way he could keep lean and functional rather than becoming a fly-half haskell...?

chesh10 says...

I don't see why he needs to rush into, 10kg in an off season is a lot for a guy of his build. Clearly he's still growing, may not reach his physical peak til he's 25, why rush it? If he weighed that much in 2-3 yrs, then fine, but an off season seems a bit much.

If he can put 10kg on ,and retain his running game ,it will only benifit him in the long run.Lets just hope it doesent affect his speed in the line breaks.A fantastic talant ,and i predict a England FH soon

Posted 12:46 17th July 2012

Bones7 says...

he will easily be able to get up to 90kg and remain as flexible and agile as he is now given that he is doing it in a very professional environment under the watchful gaze of teams of doctors, physios, masseurs, fitness trainers, nutritionists and team mates who have done it before. the short of it is that 80kg is just too light for a top level 10 these days, Aaron Cruden plays well and has done well to avoid injuries in spite of his size, not because of it. Anything over 90kg will be a waste of time really because he's not in the side to smash people and crash through defences, that's all he'd need to make himself a bit more robust and stronger in defence.
