Ospreys snatch dramatic victory

Biggar: Sixteen points

A last gasp try from captain Justin Tipuric and 16 points from Dan Biggar helped Ospreys record an improbable 26-19 win over Edinburgh.

Edinburgh made four changes to the squad that lost to Cardiff last week and it was the visitors that took the lead on seven minutes when Tim Visser ran over for the opening score of the game.

The Dutch winger capitalised on an error by Ospreys full-back Richard Fussell to score the Scottish outfit's only try.

Ospreys hit back with a try of their own after 11 minutes through Rhys Webb. The scrum-half picked up from where he left off in Ospreys comfortable win over Leinster last week with his second try in as many RaboDirect PRO12 games.

Biggar and Grieg Laidlaw traded penalties once again early in the second half as neither side managed to gain a stranglehold on the game.

The tight second period saw little in the way of chances for either side and it was the home side's number ten that struck a 65th minute penalty to edge last year's Celtic League winners ahead with fifteen minutes remaining.

In the final five minutes, Ospreys lock Ian Evans was sent to the sin bin to leave the Swansea based side a man light for the remainder of the game and Laidlaw matched Biggar kick for kick with a penalty to level the match at nineteen apiece.

It was Ospreys however that had the final say, snatching victory at the death with the last play of the game when Tipuric ran over to give the Welsh side an unlikely victory and condemn Edinburgh to back-to-back defeats.
