SKY_MOBILE Redpath Bryan Sale

End of the road: Bryan Redpath

Sale director of rugby Bryan Redpath has been relieved of his position at the club, with Steve Diamond taking over for the foreseeable future.

Redpath had been in the job for just five months after leaving Gloucester in controversial circumstances at the end of last season.

He has been offered a position as backs coach, which he is understood to be considering.

The club's chief executive Diamond will take charge of the team for Friday's crucial Premiership clash against fellow strugglers London Irish at Salford City Stadium.

Sale have lost all seven of their league games this season - the worst start in the club's Premiership history - and are currently eight points adrift at the bottom of the table.

John Mitchell, the former All Blacks coach who has been working as a consultant at Sale in recent weeks, is expected to be named as Redpath's permanent successor.

Qkram, Yep, has to be said that Glaws have come up smelling of roses. Nigel Davis has done a great job and fits that club like a glove.

Sale are a mess. St Andre's influx of french players followed by the dam bursting cheap as chips journeyman bargain bonanza shopping spree of Kingsley Jones did a real job on sale. The club lacks local identity. So it was kinda mission impossible for a inexperienced DOR like Basil. Like England there's no quick fix and the problems need to be flags up rather than swept under the carpet before things will improve. Demoting Redpath won't solve the problems.

Time for Steve Diamond to go . Sacked another coach. He clearly has poor judgment. No idea what he is doing. Change change change- all reactionary. Get out now. John Mitchell will not put up with your nonsense

Lol only yesterday the club were saying Redpath was safe and all the time as everyone could see they were manouevering Mitchell in for the job. Good luck to them for as Melkdave has rightly pointed out the dictator has arrived. How long will it be before we are reading about player disatisfaction or open revolt at Sale. We now await the arrival of deans after the Northern tour and the reunification of the terrible twins lol.

Diamond and Mitchell will be a pretty draconian partnership. I can't see many people enjoying playing under them. What did I say yesterday though - Diamond won't hesitate to sack Redpath despite all the hassle of getting him there.
