Gutted. I hate it when players have to give up through injury. Good luck, Tom.

Terrible news. Not only one of the only out and out 7s with potential to be properly world class (a la McCaw, Brussow, Pocock, Warburton), but, having seen him interviewed, seems to be a really good bloke as well. Gutted for Wasps.

All the best Tom - I am hoping that we will see more of you in future if ESPN or Sky come knocking, which I think they should.

Such a shame to see any pro have to retire so young

Such a shame. He had the potential to be a great player for Wasps and England Indeed, he always looked the most likely candidate to finally fill Neil Back's 7 shirt for England until his horrendous run of injuries conspired against him.

What a shame - he was a great player. And an injury at 27 is so unfortunate - he had a few more good years (and with England's reputation, a few more bad ones afterwards!) left in him.

Go well, TR!

A massive shame. Since not long after Neil Back retired - certainly from around the 2007 world cup, this is the guy I have wanted fit and in the England 7 shirt - he is a true openside with pace, combative on the ground, and a cool head.
