@Boksmashoffice, I could not agree more. Wouldn't it be better if there was just the Currie Cup, ITM and an Aussie provincial competition, maybe mix in an Argentine provincial competition and the winners could play each other Heineken Cup style to determine a SH champion? Then there'd be less of a brutal schedule resulting in these types of injuries. I think the Top 14 is also too long and probably the main reason the French have never won a RWC.

Very disappointed for him. Can be a bit of a walking penalty at times but no doubt in my mind that he's the best hooker in world rugby. Very highly regarded here in New Zealand. All the best for your rehab Bismarck...

GoWalesGo, why would we be worrying about writing muck on Saffa articles? No need for us to prove ourselves.
Pity for Du Plessis, would prefer it to have been his brother.

This is a real putty but would rather this happens now and we get to see how many other n°2s of international quality we have rather than in 2015...
BTW Ed, could you please block FISH's account, he's pissing everybody off with non-rugby related comments...

I am going to have a moan. These lads are playing too much rugby. I put his ijury down to the long seaon. The super 15 should be a super 12 comp. Maybe i am too we emotional about this and and not thinking correctly.

This a sad - he is not only a top act on the field, but a gentleman who represents all that is good about rugby union.

Terrible news!
This mans career seems to be cursed: four years political pine riding for Mr. John Smit's honour and now: Free sight and then this.
Get well soon and fully recover, Bizzie!
If i were religious, I'd pray for you.

@FISH, You are 16, right? And acne is a problem? And the under 15 C team dropped you just before the Cake League Final because you still can't catch a pass even it's lobbed. Now you are an online rugby expert because you think nobody sees through your crap. Think again.

I recently heard Bismarck du Plessis described as the best player in the world, and thought: "My god, that's just about right."
It's tough that South Africa, and world rugby, should have lost first JP Petersen and now Du Plessis to injury. But one would think that if anyone could surprise with the speed of his recovery, it would be Du Plessis.

Terrible news for SA! I like many Kiwi's have utter respect(awe) for the way this guy plays rugby..To me he epitomizes SA rugby..he's a FREAK..Powerful & technically sound on all facets scrum/defense/line out/attack. A beast on the paddock and a gentleman off the field. We will be deprived of one of the draw cards of super rugby.Best luck on the REHAB BRO
