@ pierredelot1 - your advert would be better if it just said "English", rather than "English born". Otherwise you're just being daft.

Oh give me a break. What's Hartley going to say ? "This new regime is the biggest load of crap I've ever been associated with". We've heard these sound bites before from team members throughout the professional era, getting a couple of colums inches in this and other articles all with a view to what? Sound bites and press releases may sell tickets and stimulate interest and debate, but they certainly don't win rugby matches. So Mr Hartley get your head down don't give any penalties away and see if you can win this one. Now that would be a bit of positive publicity and Uncle Stuart may pick you for the next match. But remember one thing it's not that long since we heard them all crowing about how much they respected and enjoyed playing for a certain Mr Martin Johnson, but that was fairly shortlived. One good bit of print I would like to see is.:-

Wanted. English born openside flanker required, ability to tear around the pitch in the style of Peter Winterbottom/Neil Back, ability to tackle anthing that moves, arrive quickly at the breakdown and secure the ball an advantage. Now that might make a crowd of 90,000 smile for a change.

Any takers ?????

Not likely to happen but

I really want to say this before the game,... but I'm one person who thinks Lancaster is doing the right thing by England,... I see it like this.

He does the best thing for himself,... he picks large portions of the "old guard" with a view to short term results,.. OR, he does the right thing by English rugby and lays down the foundations of a team who by the next world cup should be established, experienced and above all know each others game inside out.

Win or lose on Saturday,... and I think it's going to be a very competative and close game no matter what the so called experts say, SL will come out the other side of this competition knowing that he's made positive steps for the future of the English game,...I can really see the benefits of what he's trying to do. Who ever gets the job will have alot to thank him for.

@ wazsere - we've got the talent to beat Wales (in theory!), but not the structure or gameplan.

Yet...

"I am not saying the old camp was wrong..............''

Well it was because in all the time MJ was in charge I can remember 3 games where England actually impressed me and gave me some hope, firstly against France and then against Australia home and away, that is it!!!!!!!!!!!!

England are not exactly setting the world alight right now either but at least SL has made some much needed changes and has bought some fresh faces in.

Have to agree, all bring the coach apples to influence him.

They should just do it on the pitch!

England are a poor side at present but they may improve under Lancaster.

Currently they're back-line is clueless.

Lancaster's the right man for the job at present but the player's have to step-up from now on.

It's a little sycophantic, but he's right about the breath of fresh air.

Let's hope we do ourselves justice at the weekend!
