never gave this one a thought, too much rugby on the weekend, shame it had to be scheduled in this test 'window' when there were so many internationals being played,

Four players cited for 5 incidents of foul play according to Stuff website, Brendon Leonard (Chiefs), Dane Coles (Hurricanes) for a scuffle around a tackle, Coles also cited for a second offence of punching in a separate incident, Kendrick Lynn (Highlanders) and Filo Paulo (Blues) cited for punching.

I saw only a few passages of this game, but in that time there was more mongrel evident than I have seen in New Zealand since, well, since the North-South games when I was a kid.

These may not have been the top players in each island, but they played with immense pride and took no backward step. It was like going back 40 years.

NZ has missed this fixture and what it does for the players. We will be the better for it if it is repeated annually.

And there was some tremendous skill on show too.

This was an entertaining game with a funny fight in it, which Filo Paulo gives Tom Donnelly a hilarious cheapshot on the ground.
