Australia coach Robbie Deans praised his side's defensive organisation after they defeated England at Twickenham.

Deans was pleased with his side's response after they were outclassed in Paris the weekend before, highlighting the character of his young squad.

"The boys had a lot of faith in the defensive line and I felt that showed," said Deans.

"It was a remarkable Test when you consider the intensity - there was no let up right up until the 80th minute.

"We've used a lot of players this year and the guys who have come in have responded to the opportunities handed their way. It was much better than last week [in Paris] and it had to be. The lads did it, not me.

"Winning doesn't come easily here at Twickenham."

Young Wallaby flanker Michael Hooper was named Man of the Match after an excellent performance, and was delighted that Australia showed how well they can perform after the humiliation in Paris.

"We're capable of doing that every week. We've been in this stage before bouncing back from a defeat and the boys just stuck together," said Hooper.

"These are the venues that you want to play at and I think everybody fed off that. Adam Ashley-Cooper told me in the week that you never forget your first time playing here, so it's great to get a win."

England and the Wallabies are the same when it comes to praise or criticism.

They believe their own good press and (often but not always) play like rubbish when expected to win... and they (often but not always) come out swinging when everyone writes them off.

I have a feeling England will beat SA this week. Just like I had a feeling Aus would beat England.

Well that brings Robbie's win loss ratio up a smidgen only 3% to go to catch Bob Dwyer!

R. Deans is getting over the moon again. Hopeless clown. We all know England ain't that strong and are rebuilding so no need to start flying. But you can fly... just fly straight to NZ and never come to coach Wallabies again.

Much, much better defence which put a lot of pressure on England. IMO that was the key, England crumbling under the pressure and effected Robshaw's decision making.

Yeah, and I don't mean this in any way that belittles Australia's win, (they kicked our bum!) but englands attacking pattern was terrible! SA will eat us alive unless we get a little momentum and depth into the back line. The only way england could have made it easier for OZ to tackle the ball carrier is if he was shouting "ME! ME! I'm gonna get the ball now! LOOK! I'm waving me arms about and jumping up and down 3 foot away from you! Ready!?! Here it com..." SPLAT! Oops england got smashed again.
