There's a reason why Argentina wanted to join the 6 nations and this is it.

The crux of the matter will be how SANZAR treat the Pumas, lets hope they are welcomed into the fold and not slated to an inch of their lives everytime they lose to the All Blacks.

@lawynd

So losing players (and underperforming as a consequence) is not a problem as long as you get paid?

Bet he gets a contract in October/November.

Spiteful decision by a club who are quickly losing their way. I listen every week to the Tigers podcast and every week the presenters & Cockerill sound like a broken record whinging about losing players to International duties and the salary cap. Their minds are focused on excuses for losing. hence a losing mentality has set in at the Tigers.

Pathetic!!!!

You can't compare losing players to other tournaments and countries to English internationals; the clubs are paid for those players, Argentina aren't going to help foot the bill for Agulla's absence. Furthermore, the 6N is local; this is on the other side of the world and involves massive amounts of travelling during the tournament too, plus involves more games, so is naturally more demanding on the players.

I'm sorry but that's ridiculous.

He misses the start of the season.... so what about all of the English players you're going to lose during the six nations. It's okay to miss the same amount of game time, just as long as it's not at the start of the season!!??

Furthermore, what a perfect player to have who can slot in on wing / centre while you lose the likes of Tuilagi and possibly Allen next season.

Bit stupid really, considering the English Internationals miss the same amount of time... as for 'missing pre-season', its not like their sitting around doing nothing, they'll be playing some of the best teams in the World!

He'll be regretting this come the Six Nations, when he has no players to choose from.

Well i heard recently that domestic rugby has just turned pro in Argentina. Maybe the likes of Agulla should look at going back home or even to Super rugby.

harsh on agulla who is a top performer in the premiership, i wonder if a lower league team will pick him up e.g. if worcester do lose benjamin and garvey could he be heading there? i hope this 'rugby championship' thing doesnt actually backfire and argentina find themselves with a load of rugby players with no european or super rugby clubs to play for and end up back in argentina
