New Zealand-born Riki Flutey qualified for England on the grounds of residency in 2007 and has been a regular in Martin Johnson's squads ever since.
If Flutey is selected to play then the 29 year-old Wasps centre or fly-half will become the first person ever to play for and against The Lions, after appearing for Wellington in 2005.
He made his England debut in a 39-13 victory over Pacific Islands in 2008 before starting games against Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
Flutey scored his first England try against Italy in the 2009 Six Nations before scoring another two against France and another against Scotland making him the joint highest try scorer in the championship.
The Wasps management team are said to be massively impressed with Flutey's work-ethic and professionalism and there is no doubt his club and Lions coach Ian McGeechan will be calling upon this during the tour, before Flutey makes a switch to French Top 14 team Brive next season.
