London Irish have moved to boost their back-line options with the signing of hard-running centre Elvis Seveali'i from Sale Sharks.

The Samoan international, who was born in Wellington and has been capped fifteen times by his country, links up with the Exiles immediately in preparation for the forthcoming season.

Seveali'i moved to the northern hemisphere in 2002 and played for Bath in 2002/03 before joining the Ospreys for two seasons.

However, in 2005 he returned to England and played a key role in the Sharks team that won the Guinness Premiership in the 2005/06 term.

"Elvis will enhance and add depth to our potent midfield," said Exiles Head Coach Toby Booth, when he announced the signing on Thursday.

"He shares the same work and playing ethos as Seilala Mapusua and brings valuable international and Premiership experience to us."

And the powerful 30-year-old was also pleased to be joining a club he has long admired with other factors adding weight to his move.

"I'm looking forward to playing for London Irish. Having played against the club, I like the style of rugby the team plays and I'm also looking forward to linking up with my friends Seilala Mapusua and Sailosi Tagicakibau," he said.
